Eastbridge Willows was started in 1999 by Brigid and Anna Kirsch, reviving the ancient traditions of willow growing and basket making once associated with Eastbridge Farm. Set in beautiful Hampshire countryside, on the banks of the River Hart, Eastbridge Willows is now an established centre for crafts and willow horticulture.
Our popular courses range from living willow structures for the garden to hedgerow basketry. Practical hands-on tuition is provided by Anna Kirsch, an experienced skills-based tutor, who will also be teaching at R.H.S. Whisley in 2006. The courses include tuition, materials and lunch. Our withy beds contain over 70 different varieties. In addition to those traditionally associated with basketry, we specialise in ornamental willows in an array of different colours. Our willows are suitable for arbours, arches and other living willow structures as well as basket making. We are happy to provide advice on planning, construction techniques and suitable varieties for your projects. We are happy to undertake commissions, both large and small. In particular, projects for school grounds that introduce shade as well as an exciting play area. Please contact us to discuss your ideas.
